Drawbacks of Breast Augmentation Surgery

When most women consider getting their breasts augmented, the only option they consider is breast augmentation surgery. There is no doubt that surgery is the single most popular way to have your breasts enhanced, but is it the best?

There are now many non surgical options available that work just as well as surgery and carry none of the trademark risks associated with being cut open. If you are on the fence with your decision to get your breasts augmented, you may want to consider the following factors.

Pain

Television shows like Nip/Tuck and the many reality shows that have shown women getting breast enhancement surgery have helped to highlight just how painful a procedure this is. Yes, you will be given painkillers but even the strongest painkillers can't completely mask the debilitating pain that comes with this kind of surgery.

The best part about non surgical breast augmentation is that it is completely painless and often times provides very similar results to what you get from surgery. This reason alone is one of the major factors why so many women choose not to have surgery.

Healing time

It takes weeks for the female breast to appear somewhat normal again after surgery. You will be required to take significant time away from work and even if you didn't, you wouldn't feel much like working, anyway.

For some reason, there is a perception out there that the breast immediately looks presentable the day after surgery, but in reality, the healing process takes significant time.

Scars

The old saying goes that the better your surgeon is, the more hidden your scars will be, but even the best surgeon can't completely hide the signs of their work. If you are like most people and you can only afford to go see an average specialist, the scars can be quite visible, and extremely ugly. Why risk being disfigured when you can enjoy similar results from non surgical means.

Leaks

No matter what new material they make breast implants from, there is always a chance of them leaking, and even if the material leaking into your body is saline, it isn't something your body needs.

What makes the whole proposition even scarier is that some doctors have gone back to using materials that were abandoned back in the 1980's because they scared so many women. Don't risk a leaky implant that will likely have to be removed in a few years anyway.

Cost

When it comes to breast augmentation surgery, the old saying that you get what you pay for is true. You absolutely never want to invest in "cheap" cosmetic surgery of any kind, but then that rules out affordable surgery options for just about everyone.

Before you make your final decision, consider all of your options, and that includes non surgical breast enlargement that only costs a fraction of surgery.
